Learn the basic sensory processing and principles of Sensory Integration, the common sensory processing problems and the reasons underlying it. Know also the environmental modification techniques or adapting the home or space and the importance of play and self-care tasks in sensory processing/ integration.
Understanding the Picky Eater
1:30-4:30pm
Sensory defensiveness and its effect on feeding will be discussed in this lecture. This will provide an overview of the several factors affecting and limiting child’s response to feeding. General recommendations on how to make mealtime “less stressful” and an overview of Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Approach will also be discussed.
Ms. Lady M. Suarez is a graduate of UP-College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) Manila, 2002. A Consultant of Therapy Works Inc., Skill Builders Therapy Center & St. Luke’s Medical Center - Neurodevelopmental Center (SLMC-NDC). She is also the OT Head of St. Luke’s Neurodevelopmental Center. A Board of Director, Occupational Therapy Association of the Philippines (OTAP) and a Special Lecturer of UP-CAMP. Has SI training includes certification for Wilbarger protocol and Feeding training includes certification for the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Approach.
